🚨 “I Don’t Have Time to Track My Time!” 🚨
...Said every franchise owner ever.
Sound familiar? You’re not alone. Most of us say we want time freedom. But then we refuse to spend a few minutes a day doing the one thing that actually leads to it: time tracking.
Yes, I get it. You’re late! You’re late! For a very important date! (cue White Rabbit energy). But if you don’t know where your time is going, you’ll keep chasing it like a caffeine-fueled squirrel in rush hour.
🕒 Time Tracking = Step 1 to Freedom
Here’s how it works, Spark-style:
Track your time for one week. (Use the Spark Freedom Tracker Sheet).
Categorize what you did.
Trash or Trim what’s not essential.
Double down on high-leverage tasks that move your goals forward (hello, 80/20 Rule!).
If you’re not intentional with your time, your calendar gets hijacked by everyone else’s priorities. At the end of the day, you’ll feel busy… but not productive. We don’t want busy. We want breakthroughs.
💫 Today’s Spark: Busy ≠ Productive
Ever feel like you're running hard but not getting anywhere? That's the "Hamster Wheel Effect." And it’s sneaky.
You’re stuck in what Tony Robbins calls The Tyranny of How. You tell yourself:
“I’ll figure out how… when I have the time.”
Except... you never do. Because you didn’t make it.
🔥 Ignite Action: Design Your Ideal Week
Ask yourself:
What would your ideal morning look like?
How much time would you spend in your business?
When do you recharge and rest?
Then map out your day in 3-hour chunks:
🕕 6–9am | ☕ 9–12pm | 💪 12–3pm | 🧠 3–6pm | 🍷 6–9pm
Each night, reflect:
What did I plan to do?
What did I actually do?
How can I improve tomorrow?
Here’s an example:
Goal | Actual | Tweak |
|---|---|---|
Tandem Spark newsletter – 2 hrs | 30 min | Break it into smaller chunks. |
Sleep – 7 hrs | 5 hrs 40 min | Try the 3-2-1 bedtime rule (no food/work/screens). |

✨ Final Word
Time tracking isn’t a punishment — it’s a power move.
If you want time freedom, you start by noticing where it’s leaking.
This week, take the first step. Track it. Review it. Adjust it.
Next week, I’ll coach you through how to stay motivated (even when you're tired, distracted, or caught in a pre-teen homework meltdown). But for now, just remember:
You’re not too busy to track your time. You’re too brilliant not to.
