Energy & Burnout Recovery
😮💨 Burnout? Not A Time Problem. It’s a Nervous System Problem.
Feeling fried and still pushing forward? This post unpacks why burnout has less to do with your calendar and more to do with your vagus nerve. (Vagus. VAH-gus. Like Vegas. But VAH.) Learn how to activate your nervous system's reset button and reclaim your spark once more without adding to your to-do list.

🚨 “I’m Just So Tired… But I Can’t Stop!” 🚨
...said every high-functioning burnout case hiding behind a strong coffee and a stronger to-do list.
Sound familiar? You’re not alone. You’re exhausted—but somehow still sprinting. Like a raccoon on Red Bull with a clipboard.
This week's mic drop moment:
✨ Burnout isn't a time issue. It's a nervous system issue. ✨
🧠 Your Vagus Nerve = The Spark Plug for Your Sanity
If your body’s stuck in fight-or-flight, then no amount of bubble baths or 5 AM club vibes will fix it. Your vagus nerve is your body’s reset button. And when you learn to activate it, you shift from constant hustle to calm, grounded momentum.
Here’s how to Spark your nervous system back to life:
Breathe like a sleepy dragon.
Inhale for 4 seconds, exhale for 6 or 8 seconds. (The longer exhale tells your body you’re safe.) Do this ten times.Sing, gargle, or hum.
No, really. These activate your vagus nerve. You can hum Beyoncé or Barney, I won’t judge.Cold exposure.
Splash cold water on your face. Or try a cold shower. If you're really brave, go full Wim Hof. If not, start with "aggressively refreshing your skincare routine."Put your hand on your heart and say: “I’m safe. I can slow down.”
(Even if you're not sure you believe it. Your body will get the memo first.)
💫 Today’s Spark: Burnout = Your Body’s Way of Saying “Something’s Off”
Burnout doesn’t mean you're broken. It means you’ve been too strong for too long without support.
High performers burn out not because they’re weak—but because they ignore the warning lights.
🔥 Ignite Action: Run a Daily Spark Check-In
Each evening, ask:
Question | Answer |
|---|---|
What drained me today? | 😖 Be honest. Even the “little things” count. |
What fueled me today? | ⚡ Write it down. Do more of that. |
What does my body need tomorrow? | 🛏️ More sleep? Less noise? More greens? Less screen? |
Bonus points: track your vagus-activating habits like it’s a self-care bingo card. 🎯
✨ Final Word
If your energy is fried, your brilliance is buried.
Your clients, your family, your spark…none of them want your leftovers.
Start by calming your nervous system.
Then build your calendar from a rested, regulated state of peace and calm.
Next week, I’ll coach you through discipline… but not the kind that makes you feel like a failure when you eat too many carbs. I mean real, self-honoring consistency. But for now, just remember:
📣 You don’t need more hustle. You need more healing.
Today's Mantra: I am safe. I will take action from a place of peace.
